Interantional Congress: Fascination for the Foe
This interdisciplinary international congress explores how seventeenth-century Spanish and Dutch artists expressed their idea of the national community by depicting the foe as a necessary contrast to their ideal citizen, but the congress also examines the curiosity that Dutch and Spanish felt towards each other before and after 1648.
