In honour of the 100th anniversary of Economics and Business, we are organising the conference ‘A Fair and Responsible Future’. Internationally renowned experts, along with our own talented researchers, will share their thoughts on the (re)building of a sustainable and fair global economy.

We can already share with you some of the highlights of the programme. As soon as more speakers have been confirmed, we will publish this information on the website.
Keynote lecture: Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Dr Okonjo-Iweale is an economist and international development expert with over 40 years of experience. She is the first woman and first African to hold the position of Director General in the 75-year history of the General Agreement on Tariff and Trade (GATT) and World Trade Organisation.
EB talents: UvA Economics and Business conducts research in areas such as environmental economics, resilience, development, and inequality. Our own talented, young researchers will shine their light on policy matters, using insights from their research projects.
Room for Discussion: Experts from business and the banking sector will take a seat on the Room for Discussion chesterfields to reflect together with our students on the practical impact of sustainability and equality policies.
