A binding study advice (BSA) applies to all UvA bachelor’s programmes.
The BSA means that during the first academic year of your bachelor’s programme you will have to earn a minimum number of ECTS in first-year courses. If you fail to do so, and no extenuating circumstances apply, you will be issued a negative binding study advice and you will not be able to continue your studies.
Each student receives a study advice (positive or negative) at the end of their first academic year.
The UvA has a student support system in place. You can always contact one of your study advisors as they monitor your study progress closely and can advise you in case of issues.
