Half of all the Master's programmes at the UvA are taught in English. A large number of Master’s students are from other countries, and their number is growing annually. Almost 50% of the UvA’s PhD students now come from abroad. The UvA is currently home to students from over 100 different nationalities. In addition, almost 20% of our academic staff hail from other countries. International cooperation has also been expanded. Across the breadth of the institution, the UvA is engaged in approximately 50 alliances with other European and non-European universities; faculty and institute staff are engaged in a far greater network of alliances.
