Where can I make payments at the UvA?
You can make payments at the canteens, restaurants, coffee corners, candy and soft drinks vending machines, and at the library desks using the credit on your student ID card.
To pay at the University Library desks, you can pay using the credit on your student ID card and your bank debit card.

How do I top up credit on my student ID card?
Online via myNetPay (new window). Topping up via the website incurs a banking charge of €0.50 per top up.
You can also top up your student ID card at one of the top-up points at the UvA and AUAS locations. Topping up at the charging points is free of charge.

Where can I check the credit balance on my card?
You can check the balance online at myNetPay (new window) and at the top-up points throughout the campus.

Do transaction costs apply when I add credit to my card?
When you log in to the website to add credit, you pay € 0.50. This is in respect of bank charges that are passed on to you.

Why has the UvA opted for this system and not for pin?
Implementing the PIN system would have been more expensive and product prices would have had to be increased. Our aim is to keep the prices as low as possible for staff and students alike.

Can I use my foreign bank card or credit card to add credit to my card?
That is only possible if you have a Paypal account linked to your credit card or foreign bank account. Log onto myNetPay and process the transaction here via PayPal using your own bank card or credit card.

Can I have the credit on my account retransferred to my main account?
If you wish to have the credit retransferred to your IBAN or PayPal account, you will need to submit a request to have the current credit refunded to you.
On receipt of this request, so long as the particulars you provided are correct, it will take about 10 days for the credit to be retransferred to your IBAN or PayPal account. More information on refunds (new window).

How is my privacy guaranteed when I use my card?
Only the usage of the card is recorded; these data are anonymous and cannot be related to individuals.

When should I close my account?
Only close your account when you are about to leave the AUAS and make sure you have used up your credit.
If you close your account in the interim it will not be possible to generate a new account. An administrative fee of € 2.50 is charged when you close the account.
