Self-driving cars, smart cameras, surveillance systems, robotic manufacturing and machine translations: examples of how artificial intelligence has become integrated in society. In the highly competitive two-year Master's programme Artificial Intelligence (AI) you will develop a solid understanding of AI and become an expert in a rapidly evolving discipline.
This year, you won't be able to attend any busy on-campus events with lots of people. But our online Open House is the perfect way to get to know UvA study programmes and university life from the comfort of your own home. Every study programme has an Open House page with videos, FAQs and live events. On the main Open House website you can discover all our programmes, explore the city and campus, and get inspired during our theme weeks.
Due to the Corona pandemic, in exceptional cases, the UvA will allow you to start your Master's programme before having fully completed your Bachelor’s degree. Check the Application and Admission page for more information.
The curriculum of the Master's Artificial Intelligence leaves ample space for you to explore what you find interesting in and around the field of AI. You can specialise in one of the UvA research areas or you can design your own path that combines research fields.
Who better than our students can give you an insight into the Master's programme Artificial Intelligence? Read what they have to say and meet the researchers that teach the core courses.
In AI research we focus on getting the system to actually perform a task – whether it is recognising objects in images, understanding natural language, or any of the myriad manifestations of intelligence - while only occasionally glancing at biology. This is what appeals to me most.Taco Cohen, student Artificial Intelligence
